About Haus of Trix
Haus of Trix is an independent fashion label created by designer & artist, Alex Kollar. Our mission is to design stand out pieces through sustainable & ethical manufacturing while sparking confidence in each wearer. "I was taught to work hard, give back, & do as much good in this life as possible," Kollar explains, "While I am fortunate enough to pursue my creative passions & desire to build community, my goal is to remain focused on the greater picture."
Haus of Trix is committed to pursue sustainability, ethical production & free trade. "One day this brand will be 100% handmade right here in Los Angeles using ethically sourced materials," Kollar states, "we only have one planet & she is crying out to be heard." While creative force fuels Haus of Trix, humanity & stewardship remain at the forefront.
Meet the designer
Born & raised in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Kollar moved with her family to sunny Florida during her adolescence where her love of art & design began to truly blossom. After completing a bachelor's degree in media studies & art from Wheaton College, Kollar set her eyes on the gold coast.
Once settled in Los Angeles she began a career in the television industry but after almost three years set out on her own creative venture.
Aside from creating the Haus of Trix brand, Kollar is a graphic designer & digital illustrator at heart. She established the digital design business, Haus of Trix Studio to showcase her work while assisting others with developing their own brand identity & ethos.
Slow fashion is sustainable fashion
It's 2021, you can't launch a clothing line without thinking sustainably. Before I ever conceptualized my own clothing designs, I dedicated myself to find the most sustainable, ethical way to navigate the fashion industry as an independent label. Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. What’s more, one in every five items produced by the fashion industry reach landfills without being worn even once.
Haus of Trix works with the on-demand supplier, Printful. Each product you see in our catalog is made on-demand—once you place an order, we produce it specifically for you. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste while our printing partner's high-quality printing tech creates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers. The inks used for printing are vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. Haus of Trix takes sustainability seriously, that’s why we take care to dispose of any left-over ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.
None of the products you see on the site are created until an order is placed. It takes time for us to create and send out the product, but making each order on-demand allows us to avoid overproduction. This way we get to take care of you, and the planet we all share.
